I need to invent a sports drink that can be consumed during an activity or a sport. That will be able to give you energy and help you gain electrolytes that you lost from sweat. What ingredients should i put in my drink. that will help it to fit the standards that i need. Is vitamins good?

A basic sports drink consists of carbohydrates in the form of glucose and fructose, water and salt, so I would suggest:

1 litre water
250ml orange squash
couple of pinches of salt

More complex sports drinks such as isotonics work to replace the minerals lost as you sweat. According the the linked site "a litre of sweat typically contains 0.02g Calcium, 0.05g Magnesium, 1.15g Sodium, 0.23g Potassium and 1.48g Chloride". So you could add these to a basic sports drink to create an isotonic drink.

this is for collage work so no sillly answers please.

I would say you would identify calorific values of foodstuffs consumed & add them together

Stop the nonsense. Snake oil salesmen abound. Use common sense and your doctor’s advice; don’t expect anything but scams from so-called "alternative medicine" practitioners. Wasting your money on crap like that is like giving donations to organized crime.

This maybe filmed and will be in an auditorium. Its for a sports nutrition class

The standard business suit.

Thanks
Bill

In other terms which not only builds muscle and tones your body but also helps you loose fat and gives you more power, strength.

Protein. Protein shakes are the #1 supplement among people who weight train regularly, whether it be bodybuilders or powerlifters. Whether they are looking to tone and lose some fat or looking to bulk up.

I am 25 currently in full time employment which i dont like. I want to find a career. I dont think i can afford full time education again, best way would be to work and gain a qualification as i go, anyone know how i could go about his?

I discovered a company that addresses all your concerns. It’s presently called Ideal Health but is undergoing a serious change and turnover in the Company. Someone very wealthy and powerful purchased the company and will launch it officially in November. Right now the company is preparing for that big day when people Like Oprah will talk about it. The company promotes health and awareness through their weight loss program and customized vitamin program. I lost 21 pounds on it and love the vitamins. I sleep better at night while working full time and raising two young boys. If you are interested just let me know and I’ll tell you more. I love it.

I am looking for something in northern illinois, wisconsin, maybe iowa, maybe northern Missouri. I am a Missouri resident. I am looking for a good respected program but am not finding much.

I am already looking into UW-Madison and University of Illinois at Chicago. If you have an opinion on those two school that would be nice to hear as well.

Thank you.
I didnt find anything on university of iowa website. Did I just miss it?

Here is the link to the list of schools that are accredited to off nutrition

well anyone can have an idea, or a great concept…. start with knowing what product u want to produce….. then u can go to chemist, or somone that works in the nutrition and sports medicine field…. they can help you… look at your idea…

but make sure u get them to sign papers so they do not patent your idea and take it from you..

I am thinking of transfering to the University of Central Florida in Orlando next year, but i want to major in sports medicine and minor in nutrition. Does UCF offer both of these?

UCF has a major in Sports & Fitness and one in Health Sciences: Athletic Training. There is a minor in Health Sciences also. That’s the closest they have.

or is there a different route i need to take to get into nutrition.

definately. I think you could study nutrition on it’s own though, but if not then sports science is a good route to go down. good luck
