So lets be honest with everyone. There isn’t really some fancy way to boost your metabolism. GASP!
Yes I know that sounds horrible that I said that. Metabolism boosting is kind of a catchall word for several things. For example the only way to ACTUALLY boost your metabolism is to gain more muscle or to alter your thyroid or hormones like leptin sensitivity, which is never a good idea. I know weight lifters who have gotten into trouble by taking thyroid meds to cut more.
So how can you really boost your metabolism?
You can hack your body and let you think that you’ve gotten some good ol’metabolic changes. For example regulate your sugar intake, one of the biggest problems with our bodies is that we get too much food and WAY too much sugar. When your body gets sugar it’s told to store it in fat if it goes beyond the regular blood sugar levels. Then you feel crappy because your insulin has taken all of the sugar and stored it into fat. YIKES.
So watch your sugar and next, eat smaller more frequent meals. Not because it boosts your metabolism but it gives your body a constant supply of energy and therefore maintains better blood sugar levels. From a holistic approach, it also provides perhaps more energy. We retain water when we aren’t getting proper water, so when you do start drinking water you can drop up to 10 lbs simply by drinking water.
Its kindof like a used car lot. When do you think a car lot would expand? When its making 100,000 a month or when it makes 5,000? Its kindof obvious, and when will it spend more on advertising and sales people and more stock? When it feels it has a healthy flow of cash. That maybe the best way to look at your body, frequent smaller meals gives the body the ‘paradise’ hack and you can really find your metabolism boost from there.
Of course there is a whole list of very delicious vegetables and herbs that can help your body. Some actually alter the way your genes react. yes I’m serious, and its completely crazy.

If you’ve heard the expression ‘you are what you eat’ you can understand why it’s important to adopt a lifestyle of healthy eating, which includes plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, lean meats, fish, nuts and grains and low fat dairy.
healthy eating can lead to the prevention of many common diseases and conditions, like heart disease and cancer, not to mention give you increased energy and longevity.

Only with a realistic weight loss plan with good diet, you will be able to achieve it easily.
In order to have ideal weight. few things to take note.
Calories and Weight
A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. To lose 1 pound a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or

We all heard of the saying, "You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink it." I believe there is a way to motivate the horse to drink. In this case, its a lifetyle of fitness and healthy eating which is conducive to a more healthy longer life. Therefore, I am looking for serious answers. Thanks.
An obese person feels the urge to eat often because he/she feels as though it brings a moment of happiness. Sure being fat isn’t but a slice of cheesecake or a cookie certainly does. In order to motivate a person to eat healthier and choose a more activate lifestyle, you have to make it rewarding for that person to do so. This is not a quick diet and workout but a lifetime commitment and change of style.
One of the biggest factor you have to remember is that the obese person has been programmed to turn to food for many underlining issues. Some may be "I get a cookie/sweet when I am good." "When I am bored and there’s nothing to do, I eat." "I feel so empty inside, so unhappy, I might as well eat this cookie to make me happy." You have to get ride of these old programming before the obese person has any chance of losing weight permanently.
Then you have to reprogram the person to enjoy food in a nutritional way and attach happiness to exercise and having fun. If the workout is no fun, why would a person want to coninue doing it? Maybe try tennis, skating, swimming or something fun.
And remember that it takes 30 days to make a habit of something. Good Luck.
is anyone going to stick to their diet or healthy eating or not?
what do you plan to have?
yes my plan is to stuff myself silly, then diet after christmas.lol
I am doing a report for my class, and I have no idea of any major sources. Does anyone know of any companies or various groups that promote healthy living/eating?
Self Magazine and Chatelaine Magazine are 2 of my favorites I buy every single month. They both focus on important issues rather than who’s dating who. Self deals mostly with work out ideas, and healthy eating, and anything that’ll bring you closer to being your very best in every aspect of life. Chatelaine has all that plus how to’s such as making the perfect thanksgiving dinner and many many other recipes for those who are fresh out of the nest. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
Currently working on some market research for an innovative educational toy which will revolutionise how children think about food and healthy eating. It will create an increased nutritional awareness through positive association with the good foods using multi sensory technology. Wondering how much would parents pay for a product aimed at 3-5 year olds?
$12 to 20 I would say not seeing the product.
How does it?
Does healthy eating help in anyway?
I know the basics,
but I have to have part of my science fair project in by tomorrow… and well I haven’t started .
I just needed a bit of extras.
Speaking for myself:
If you eat small portions of HEALTHY food, you can increase your metabolic rate, which is crucial for burning fat w/ minimal exercise.
If you gorge on food, it tricks your body into storing energy for fat reserves–like when bears hibernate.
Eating a high caloric diet that doesn’t match your physical lifestyle will cause you to get fatter.
