I’m looking for a school that has a good nutrition program, shorter the better. Can anyone tell me of a school where most graduates end up working in the nutrition field? Thanks very much.
I have a friend who took a one-year nutrition program at the Canadian School for Natural Nutrition. She really liked it and after one year is a certified nutritionist. Check out the website at http://www.csnn.ca/ She really liked the school and the course and only had good things to say about it.
How much do earn? (weeks/months/years/don’t matter)
What is your education background and how long did it take to achieve the required education?
I’m not sure…One of my contacts, Coach S, might possibly be able to answer this…You can go to my profile, find him listed as a contact, and maybe email him and see…He asks a lot of sports questions!!
Hope this helps…It’s all I can think of, and I see no one else has answered!!!
P.S. You can come over to my air-conditioned house anytime!!! LOL Just beware, a panther, named Disciple, likes to devour my new friends on yahoo answers!!!
Do you think that a hundred years from now these extreme dieting pursuits will be viewed in much the same way as the Elizabethan beauty ideals of receding the woman’s hairline, Victorian cinching in the waist, so internal organs are damaged or do not function, or the footbinding.
These are all beauty standards that endanger the health and functioning of women.
Overeating is also a problem but that was not the question.
It’s mixed up with so many F@cked up things. There is the insidious beauty industry and the mythology associated with selling women and girls an unhealthy but lucrative body image. There is the corruption and control of food and the feeding of the population staple poisons such as trans fats, sugar and white flour. I think we can impact in our own environments by choosing healthy unprocessed foods ( as much as we can afford – yes they are expensive). We can raise awareness of different concepts of consumerism in relation to food and beauty. We can also nurture girls and boys to have a sense of themselves that is not reliant on a sick pop cultur image. – just a few thoughts – thanks good question.
Its just i have a bad habit of eating things late on at night i was told not to eat heavy after 8pm is this true???
Also if anyone knew any good Healthy smoothies to make that give you an energy boost.
Only with a realistic weight loss plan with good diet, you will be able to achieve it easily.
In order to have ideal weight. few things to take note.
Calories and Weight
A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. To lose 1 pound a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or
decreased eating or both. Losing 1-2 pounds of fat a week is a sensible goal
Healthy diet
- Take the stairs instead of the lift
- Keep walking whilst the escalator caries you up
- Walk or cycle instead of driving short distances
Diet
- Little salt – always read the label
- Aim to have five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables daily
5 Top Tips
1. Keep an accurate food diary
2. Set healthy and manageable goals
3. Ensure you make healthy choices within your routine
4. Be proud about your progress
5. Make a strong commitment towards lifelong changes

I want to start my own nutrition store online. I do not have a offline store but do want to start an online store ASAP. Any suggestions on how to do so?
If you have money to invest then start a website and design the same as your users want online.
If you don’t have money to invest then start a blog in free platform like wordpress, blogspot etc.. Write and post about products. You can even create pages there.
So you have lots of opportunities to create your Store Online.
I started a running and vigorious work-out program but needs a long time to recover. Recently I even experienced episodes of dizziness and I noticed that I’ve unintentionally lost some weight. I’ve been lean so I don’t want to lose weight by exercise. How can I supplement my diet, which is usually healthy but doesn’t include enough protein and starchy food? I started Boost High Protein drink but not sure if it’s good for me, given the fact that I have to control sugar intake to prevent diabetes.
Your light-headedness is a result of low blood sugar levels. Have a carbohydrate rich meal an hour before your workouts to prevent this.
I am dieting but still like to go out drinking every week. What are the best drinks to order that are a little lower in calories so I don’t completely sabbotage my diet?
I don’t know if it’s the best, buy I’m dieting and I drink diet soda and vodka, or diet soda and bacardi.
We all heard of the saying, "You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink it." I believe there is a way to motivate the horse to drink. In this case, its a lifetyle of fitness and healthy eating which is conducive to a more healthy longer life. Therefore, I am looking for serious answers. Thanks.
An obese person feels the urge to eat often because he/she feels as though it brings a moment of happiness. Sure being fat isn’t but a slice of cheesecake or a cookie certainly does. In order to motivate a person to eat healthier and choose a more activate lifestyle, you have to make it rewarding for that person to do so. This is not a quick diet and workout but a lifetime commitment and change of style.
One of the biggest factor you have to remember is that the obese person has been programmed to turn to food for many underlining issues. Some may be "I get a cookie/sweet when I am good." "When I am bored and there’s nothing to do, I eat." "I feel so empty inside, so unhappy, I might as well eat this cookie to make me happy." You have to get ride of these old programming before the obese person has any chance of losing weight permanently.
Then you have to reprogram the person to enjoy food in a nutritional way and attach happiness to exercise and having fun. If the workout is no fun, why would a person want to coninue doing it? Maybe try tennis, skating, swimming or something fun.
And remember that it takes 30 days to make a habit of something. Good Luck.
I am learning about nutrition, for my own interest and benefit. I have a couple of decent books, one with a table of nutritional values of foods.
There are many references to the toxicity of some vitamins and minerals if taken in excess, but nowhere can I find out how much is too much and the symptoms.
Can anyone help, please.
